Flight Training

年 代 出 来 事 場 面 参 考

It is morning at a Rebel Base on planet Tatooine, where a young pilot is embarking on a crucial training flight.

Rookie One"Rookie One to Tac-Comm control. Request clearance for departure."
Officer Hack"This is Tac-Comm control. Clearance granted. Is that you, kid?"
Rookie One"Heck! Good to hear you."
Officer Hack"So you're running your trial today, I wish I could with you. You shouldn't have any problems - Beggar's Canyon isn't half as tough as the runs we used to do. Good luck!"
Rookie One"Thanks!"

Green Leader"Green Leader to Rookie One. Are you ready?"
Rookie One"Yes, sir."
Green Leader"Good. We're approaching the canyon run. Begin with basic flight maneuvers. Stay tight, follow our lead, and stay clear of the walls."

TIP Don't stray too far off course - most targets will drift directly in your path, making them easy to hit.

Green Leader"Congratulations, Rookie One. Now let's try a little target practice. Prepare to engage target drones. Shoot any we pass over, but stay with us!"

TIP This level is tough, Rookie One. Be gentle and subtle on the joystick, using light taps - don't overcompensate. Also, take the right turn here and follow Simms - it's easier than going left, despite his warning.

TIP To complete this mission you must hit five or more target drones, or else simms will make you play again.

Green Leader"Well done Rookie One. It looks like you've earned yourself an A-Wing."

Commander Jake Farrell"Rookie One, this is Commander Farrell. Report in."
Rookie One"Rookie One standing by, Commander."
Commander Jake Farrell"All right. Before we begin, let's get something straight. I don't like hotshot. If you want to impress me, show me control and discipline."
Rookie One"Um...Yes."
Commander Jake Farrell"Shoot the ice asteroids, but dodge the rocky ones."

TIP Hit ice asteroids directly in your path and skip those too far off course. Keep your laser crosshair as far away as possibie from rocky asteroids, or else you'll collide with them ahd receive damage.

Commander Jake Farrell"Not bad, Rookie One. Looks like you can fry after all. Report to the Kolaador system for the final phase of your training. Good Luck."

Planet Kolaador

年 代 出 来 事 場 面 参 考

The Planet Kolaador's crystaline rock formations offer the pertect playground for Rookies in training.

Commander Ru Murleen"Rookie One, welcome to Kolaador. This is Commander Ru Murleen. You impressed Commander Farrell... That's not easy. Me, I'm a little more forgiving, but the course ahead isn't..."

TIP This lesson is tough on purpose, to see if you're ready to take on the Empire. Now more than ever, a subtle wrist will save you. Except for a few ups and downs, the course is mostly straight - stay low, and concentrate on following Ru's maneuvers as closely as possible.

Commander Ru Murleen"Well done, Rookie One. We can use more pilots like you. So follow me closely, and May the Force be with you.
Commander Ru Murleen"Follow me to base and we'll get you assigned to a squadron. And while we're waiting, I'll let you buy me a drink for that fancy flying"
